I had a great opening of my last exhibition this year. 21 paintings is now hanging in the Gallery in Hägernäs Strand, Täby, Sweden.

Keeping busy:-)) This is another fun project I am working on. Check the below video of the making of an art piece collaboration I am doing with Ayala Art.

This is how it works:
We make a video each of the start of an art piece and post it in our YouTube channel. The actual art is mailed to the other person. Once we get each others start pieces we tape a second video of the additions to the paintings. The result is two collaboration paintings and 4 videos of the process. Great fun!! Below is my first video! And you can find Ayala's first video here!

I had a great day working with 25 10-year old students. I love seeing kids get into their flow and I get so inspired by how they take on a task without fear! Love love love! Thank you 5B in Kyrkskolan for letting me be part of your day!! 

We did one 12"x12 mixed media piece each and a big collaboration painting all together.
 

For the collaborative painting I got inspired by a fantastic art teacher, Bess Carter at High Shoals Elementary School in Watkinsville, and her blog. Check it out here!!!

We started out with everybody mixing paint and adding lines to the canvas. Great fun and a great activity when the kids needed a break from the Mixed Media piece.

After a short lunch break the kids continued to add patterns to the canvas... they loved the simplicity and the result is absolutely stunning!!!

Life Book is a year-long mixed media art class organised by Tamara Laporte from Willowing Arts.

We are in total 24 incredible art teachers who are all gearing up to share our mixed media techniques, tips and tricks with YOU! Themed around self-development and healing, you’ll be creating several loose mixed media art journal pages per month which by the end of the year will bind into a glorious journal (a Life Book)! You will have a wonderful keepsake that you can treasure for the rest of your life!

What a fantastic Open Studio Art Trail weekend  we have had. Over 4500 visitors in total!

64 local artists opened up their studios for a weekend.
Thank you Karin and Anna-Lena! It has been a pleasure organizing this event together with you.
We have had such fun with a lot of hard work and a lot of laughter.

I have had the honor, again, to host my dear friend Tracy Verdugo from Australia and arrange a workshop with 20 creative souls in Stockholm. What a blast! We had a fabulastic weekend in a perfect venue by the water, with a Chagall exhibition in the same house and perfect weather. I have no words for how thankful I am to all the magical women that attended the workshop. We had such energy and flow going on!

I met up with several of my Facebook friends, since many years, for the first time. Overwhelming!! The feeling of knowing someone for several years, and then meet for the first time, is very strange. Many big warm hugs to you all!!

I cannot describe the creativity and energy that was flying through the room with words but the photos will tell it all...

Summer holiday is a busy time in the Grant house… all three kids home and a lot of work to be doneJ

Today we are all in the studio, the kids are painting and creating all sorts of things out of all junk we collect for exactly this purpose. I will take pictures of all the funs stuff they create and post later on. I also have two even younger helpers in the studio today… "Tjorven" and "Blixten", two 13 weeks old kittens. "Blixten" is a new Grant family member while his brother "Tjorven" is just visiting for a couple of day. They are such a delight!  Super social, fun and they are by our side all the time and sleeps with the kids every night.

...still I got quite some filming done today for a video interview that I have been asked to do:-)

Such a fantastic place and my art is hanging in a prime position when entering the place.
I am so grateful and happy!

 

I feel lonely in my studio today. All these left for an exhibition at Gamla Kraftstationen in Deje yesterday!

 

Today my Soul Food Class is going live and I am so very excited:-) 
 

Painting is my soul food. When I find my flow and I listen to my intuition I get filled with energy, pure soul food!  To find my flow though, I need to let go and turn off my inner critique. I need to trust my inner voice. I find that the larger the canvases I paint the braver I need to be, the more I have to let go and just trust my inner voice.

In my class at Soul Food I am challenging the class, to be brave and paint big and I also challenge them to display thier art! I think that when we challenge ourselves and step outside our comfort zone we grow as artists. We grow in our skills and we grow as individuals.

In my videos I have put together a series of steps to help the class not get stuck in the details when painting big. I hope that somewhere in the process they will find your own flow, let go of their own critique (and even my steps), and just follow their own intuition!
